Pumpkins stored below the deck |
The pumpkins arrived today with the usual fan fare, as they require lots of room. With such a wet year, will any new records be set this year?
Paul and Dennis were kept busy with the jigsaws cutting out Margie’s two dimensional figures and the garden gates. For the figures, Margie uses seeds from various plants to create the people like canola, French white millet, panicum, clovers, mung beans, corn, sunflower, rice, white and green chaffs.

My day was spent attaching the stems to the papier-mache pumpkin leaves, filling gaps between the back panels and painting the gates in preparation for seeding. On the deck, seeding refers to the art of applying seed to various surfaces, hoping as little as possible falls off when you move it from the horizontal to the vertical!
The other courts (another word for districts), have started working on their decks.
